Bachelor’in It

The Bachelor’s life has been great the past several days. And, I’ve eaten like a King—”King” with a capital “K.”

The first night I made my favorite meal to make.

Kraut and Weenies
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Peas
Corn on the Cobb

—and not “Instant” Mashed Potatoes. Mom won’t allow that stuff in the house. I’ll tell you a secret: I like Instant Mashed Potatoes.
Maybe it’s because every school I attended when growing up served Instant Potatoes.
Still, I made the real Mashed Potatoes found at the Piggly Wiggly (The Pig).

Then, the next day, I cooked a pound of Ground Beef and made “Sloppy Joes.”
I heated my Hamburger buns in the microwave and added Jalapeno and Shredded Cheese to each Sloppy Joe.
I had Golden Flake “Hot” Chips with the Sloppy Joes.
“Golden Flake” is the top Chip in this part of the South.
Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant ate Golden Flake Chips. Enough Said.

Monday, I heated another pound of Ground Beef and mixed Taco Seasoning in it.
I also heated up Refried Beans and prepared some Mexican Rice.
Then, I cut up onions and opened a bag of Lettuce that I bought for $1.25. After that, I sat out all the toppings for Tacos and Burritos.
I ate Tacos, Burritos, and Bell Burgers. Of course, I added Mild Jalapeno to all of it.

In between all this eating, I made a Pecan Pie.
So, I’ve eaten like a King—”King” with a Capital “K.”

Then, each day, I watered all the plants, including the garden, and I repotted three plants.

I posted about one plant a while back that we had presumed to be dead, but it began sprouting again after much watering. It’s a “Ponytail Palm,” and I’ve named it “Momma.” “Mom or Mother” will also work.
It’s doing great. I repotted it and found that the base, which hid under the soil, was huge. I think I did everything right when I repotted it. I hope it thrives in its new, much bigger pot.

“Sparkey,” our Roomba Vacuum, is doing its thing daily.
Since everyone is gone, I have it set to begin vacuuming at 6:30 AM each morning.

Each day I’ve slowly straightened up parts of the house in hopes that everyone will return home to a clean home.
I used one of the days for Germ Killing.
I put all the cats in the Garage or Outside. I also put the dogs outside for that day.
Then, I took my Germ-Killing-Lamp and ran it for an hour in every room in the house. It took until 8 PM that night to finish up.
Then, after bringing the pets back inside, I used the lamp in the Garage to kill the germs out there.
I’m not a Germaphobe, but I do have to try to keep Germs down to a minimum in my world.

So, I’ve kept busy.
I took it slow, but I kept busy.

And I’ve eaten like a King—”King” with a Capital “K.”

That’s all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
