Diabetes Health Update

To all who keep up with my health:

I posted that my blood sugar had gotten out of whack last week.

I went to my diabetes doctor (Endocrinologist) for them to do blood work.

My doctor doubled the units of insulin I take in the morning.
Then, I take 14 units of fast-acting insulin (Humalog) before or after each meal. —This is where I get a little scared and confused.
I’m too scared to take 14 units because the first time I took it, my blood sugar bottomed out and went into the ’60s.
I was cold, clammy, shaky, and had to take in many carbs very quickly to bring my blood sugar back up.

So, for now, I eat my meal, take my blood sugar and give myself the Humalog depending on how high my blood sugar is.

I’m still pretty new and still learning how to treat my diabetes.

I’ll learn, and it will get easier.

That is all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
