—Iron Bowl 2021—

“Woo-Hoo! We’re in overtime,” I shout as I head into the living room.
We’re watching the Iron Bowl, and Alabama just tied the game up.

Mom comes into the living room and sits down.
“I was on the phone with ‘Rhonda,’ and she said, ‘Oh my gosh, Alabama just tied it up!’ So, I said, ‘I gotta go, Bye!'” and here I am, sitting on the couch with y’all.

Then mom says, “I might need to go back to my room. I don’t wanna Jinx it.”

I say back to mom, “Momma, the outcome of this game does not ride on you at all… … It rides on the shoes I’m wearing…”
