Restless Night

I had a restless night last night.

It wasn’t the bed, I promise. The bed is great. Very comfy, in fact.

I have a tethered spinal cord, which goes hand in hand with Spina Bifida, and it can be pretty painful at times.
Last night was no exception.

It felt like someone had my Spinal Cord in their hand, and they were pulling straight up on it. I couldn’t sleep a wink.

I know the routine, well, when this happens.
Moving around keeps my mind off of it and keeps the pain lowered. If I stop moving, the pain gets worse.

At one point, I went ahead and took a shower and changed out my wafers and bags on my Colostomy and Urostomy. (I was to change them today anyway.)

I also went to the 24-hour gas station next door and got some snacks.

I knew going somewhere to eat wouldn’t help because I would have to sit down and sit still to eat. At least the restaurant would prefer me to do that…

The pain is at bay now, and I am about to get back in bed to sleep.

When I wake up, I think I’ll run over to the Waffle House and get the “Steak and Eggs.”

That is all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
