Deer, Deer everywhere!
I went for an early morning drive.
I had “Dragnet” playing on the Old Timey Radio Station on XM. The heat was on. My truck was nice and warm.
I had my lights on because daylight was not for another hour.
I took my time driving around the mountain. I eased around the curves.
I was in no hurry.
Coming out of a curve, I come upon a herd of deer. They were on both sides of the road and in the road itself. Many had antlers. One was a six-point. I counted. I had to stop.
“Those deer hunters got it all wrong. The heck with going way off in the woods and climbing up into a tree. I’d sit in my truck on the side of the road.” I jokingly thought to myself. “Here I am in the warmth with one of my favorite radio shows playing and sipping coffee. This is how I’d deer hunt. To heck with going way off in the woods.”
I honked my horn, and they scrambled. You’d think the vehicle in the road would be enough to make ’em scramble. Anyway.
I made my way around the mountain and watched night turn to day.
I always enjoy that.
I’m now back at home.
And believe it or not, I think I may nap today.
That’s all for now.
Love you,
–Lynn
