It’s my Birthday.
I’ll be honest and tell you that I’ve had better.
The morning started out well.
Sitting on the front porch, mom and I talked.
She asked if I felt any older, and I told her I didn’t.
Old age sneaks up on you. It’s extremely slow.
“You don’t even notice it happening,” I tell mom. “If I had it to do over, I think I would have run more as a kid.”
“You ran a lot as a kid,” Mom tells me.
“Yeah. But, not enough.”
As I said, the morning was going great.
But then, I got sick again.
Not only did I get sick, but Mom got sick.
She is already dealing with Shingles, and now she is sick.
I emptied the contents of my stomach several times.
I began sweating cold sweats.
Who wants to be sick on their Birthday?
I took my Over The Counter medicines—more Vitamin C.
Still, I was sick for the day.
It is what it is, though.
I am feeling better at the moment.
I’ll celebrate another day.
Love you,
–Lynn
