Backroads

—The Cabin—

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both full-up. You can’t fit another person in either place.
So, I drove the backroads today and purposely got lost.

I took left turns; I took right turns.
I drove dirt roads. I drove gravel roads.

I saw horses playing, and cows lying down, which I believe means that the fish are biting.

The outside temperature was in the ’70s.
The sky was beautiful, and the clouds looked just like Marshmallows.

After a couple of hours, I decided to head back to the cabin.
I told “Google” to take me back to “The Cabin.”
See, I have the cabin address saved in my maps as “Cabin.”
So, using “Hands-Free,” I gave the command to “Google Maps” to take me to the cabin by saying, “Ok Google, take me to the cabin.”

The female voice came over my radio speakers and said, “Sure, setting your destination.” – or something like that.

I had no idea at this point where I was. I was entirely at the mercy of this female voice telling me which way to drive.

I drove gravel roads. I drove dirt roads.
I took right turns; I took left turns.

After a while, I began questioning Google Maps.
I had a feeling that it wasn’t taking me back to the cabin.
Actually, I felt like it was taking me farther away from the cabin.

I pulled off the road and started looking closer at the map.
I found that it was taking me to someplace called “The Cabin” in the Great State of Georgia…

I set my destination for our cabin’s address and proceeded back.

The A/C in my vehicle worked all day long.
I drove over many pot-holes and bumps, and it didn’t turn off once.

Also, I’ve changed the name of the “Cabin” in my Google Maps.

All in all, it was a great day.

That’s all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
