The day started out as usual—me getting up at 4 AM being shocked by my Spinal Cord.
That’s the closest thing to describing it. —Electrocution.
I drag myself out of bed, put my clothes on and decide to drive around, listening to XM Channel 148, Classic Radio.
Around 7 AM, I’m feeling better. So I sit in my recliner until 8 AM.
At 8 AM, I drive to the “Pig” (Piggly Wiggly) to get things needed for our Family Christmas Get-Together on Saturday.
Around 9:12 AM, … I know because I looked at my phone …, I was in the check-out line.
“You find everything you need, Sir?”
“Yes, Ma’am, I found… Holy Moly! I have a doctor’s appointment at 10! Throw it in the buggy. I gotta get going.”
I get to my truck, throw everything in the back seat, and head to my appointment.
I-65 around “Malfunction Junction” is much worse than usual. I get off and onto what used to be called the “Red Mountain Expressway” and head towards 280.
I get on 280, and it’s backed up for miles.
280 is bad enough, but there is a wreck up ahead, making it that much worse.
I get down to Grandview Medical Center for my appointment.
The time was 10:15. —I was late.
I get to the office.
“Yes, Ma’am, I have a 10 AM appointment to get an injection in my arm. I apologize for being late. There was a …”
“… A wreck on 65 and 280. We know. Every appointment is late today, so it’ll be about an hour before you get seen. Is that okay, or do you want to reschedule?”
“It’s fine. I’m so glad to hear that. …Not the wreck part… …the being late part… …You know what I mean…”
Around 11:30 AM, I get the shot in my arm. It already feels better, and I leave the office.
I get home and unload my truck, and realizing that I haven’t had a shower yet, I take a shower.
It’s now 2:08 PM, and I am sitting comfortably in my recliner and watching the TV Show “Wings.” Remember “Wings?” —Good Show.
That’s all for now.
Love you,
