—Cabin 6/12/22—
I’ve seen more Bears on this trip than any other trip.
I suspect that I’ll soon be seeing the Park Service Trucks going around to collect and relocate the Bears.
I don’t know if you remember “Gladys” or not so I’ll tell you about Gladys.
Gladys is a Momma Bear who had four Cubs.
I named her “Gladys” myself, and I named the Poppa Bear “Grady.”
I suspect that Grady is the Father. Gladys was always alone with the Cubs when I saw her.
I heard that one of Gladys’ Cubs belonged to another Momma Bear that died. So, Gladys took that Cub under her wings. That was the word on the street.
I went back into my Journals and found that I’d been writing about Gladys and her Cubs since 2018.
Everywhere Gladys went, the Cubs followed.
And now, I suspect these Bears are the Cubs of Gladys.
They are still a little small, but they are out on their own now.
And Gladys taught them well.
They all know how to walk up to a vehicle and check to see if the doors are unlocked or not.
They know how to get the top off the Hot Tub to get inside and drink water.
And they know how to open the “Bear Proof” Garbage containers.
I said that mostly to be funny.
In all honesty, I feel like I got to watch something beautiful.
A Momma Bear, raising her Cubs.
