I haven’t been quite myself lately.
I’ve been in a bit of a mental fog.
During my daily morning drives, I’ve noticed the number of deer that I see has gone way up in numbers.
So have the ducks.
This morning I saw six deer and two adult ducks with six baby ducks following behind.
I have to drive slowly because of the deer. They’ll jump right on out in front of you.
Today, the deer were on the side of the road, and as I approached, one of them decided to run across the street. Had I been going over twenty, I’d have hit it.
Rabbits are out in numbers as well.
Then, just when I thought I’d seen everything, “It” ran across the road.
A Mink.
I’m pretty sure it was a mink.
Imagine you’re watching a movie made between the ’40s and the ’60s. Now, imagine a little old lady in the movie, wearing a mink around her neck. That’s what ran out in front of me.
I didn’t know that minks lived in the US. I had to look it up. Turns out, minks can be found in every state.
It could have been a weasel. They both look a lot alike.
Either way, it was a pretty good drive this morning with lots of wildlife.
Happy Halloween.
Love you,
–Lynn
