Gatlinburg February 2022

—Gatlinburg – Road Trip—

I have arrived!

This morning, at 3 AM, my alarm woke me up.
My Dawg (dog) was looking at me from his bed. The look he was giving me, and I know the look well, was an “I’m not going with you, wherever you’re going” look.

I had showered before going to bed. I had also put my clothes out and ready to put on. I got dressed.
I kissed my Dawg, and by 3:30 AM, I was on the road.

The trip up here was calm and quiet. I had Old Timey Radio Shows playing as I eased on up to Tennessee.

In Sweetwater, I got off the exit and grabbed some breakfast at “The Dinner Bell.”
They are Family Owned by two siblings and have been in business for 46 Years.
The restaurant has a shopping area much as you find at any “Cracker Barrel” with neat things that you wouldn’t find in most other stores.
The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. I also enjoy browsing the shop area.
This makes the second time I’ve eaten there, and Mom told me that my Great Grandfather also enjoyed eating at that restaurant.

Not knowing the road situation in the Mountains, I decided to get back on the interstate and not take the back roads this time. So instead, I came through Pigeon Forge. I usually go through Townsend.

Around 10:45 AM, Eastern Time, I arrived at the Cabin.

My plans for today are to make the couch out and go back to sleep.

I have my travel camera setup so Papa and Momma can check on me, and I have “Downton Abbey” playing on the TV.

It’s nice being back in the mountains.

That’s all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
