GI Bug

I wanted to get all the facts before posting anything.
I know I have Family and Friends who keep up with my health through my posts, and I knew I would need to post an update.

I got sick again.
And since I had COVID not too long ago, I first thought that I had caught it again. Or it came back. I am happy to say I do not have COVID.

For a bit, I thought I might get told to go to the hospital.
See, my abdomen is sore. Tender.
But I can’t feel my abdomen very much after 30 surgeries and Spina Bifida. The fact that I could “Feel” the soreness usually means something bad is going on.

It looks like I have a GI Bug.
I’m not running any fever. I feel crumby, and my Colostomy is putting out tons. Eight bags today alone. I had to stay up last night to keep changing my bags. You don’t want to fall asleep on nights like that. —Nights when your Ostomy is outputting a lot. You could bust the bag in your sleep.

Since I’ve been outputting so much, the doctor(s) feel that is why I’m sore and tender.
I’m not distended, which does happen from time to time, so that’s good.

If it lasts past tomorrow, my Urologist wants me to come in to see him.

I’m drinking Pedialyte and keeping hydrated. I had Tomato Soup earlier, and I think I’ll stick with soup until this passes.

That’s all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
