Mt. Airy – Day 3

—Mt. Airy – Day 3—

I woke about 6:30 AM after not getting into bed until after midnight. I usually hate when that happens, but this time it’s different. I’m in Mt. Airy, NC. Your location makes a big difference in life.

My plans for the day were to eat at “The Loaded Goat,” take Shirley to Main Street to shop at the stores, and then go to “The Andy Griffith Museum” to listen to a Professor speak about “The Andy Griffith Show” (TAGS).

I took my shower and got myself ready to see the sites of this beautiful town.

By 11:00 AM, we walked into “The Loaded Goat.”

I had heard nothing but great things about this restaurant. Even “Ms. Betty Lynn,” told me that it was her favorite restaurant in town.
Ol’ Thelma Lou said it’s a great restaurant, so I had to try it.

The food was excellent.
They have Appetizers ranging from “Fried Green Tomatoes” to “Nachos and Wings.”

The menu has Burgers, Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and much more.

I got Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer and the Steakhouse Burger for my meal. French Fries came with the Burger as well.

The Burger was delicious.
It comes with A1 Steak Sauce, onion ring, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Pickle.
It was too big for my mouth and a bit messy.
I’ve found that most messy food is delicious. This Burger was no different.
Delicious.

While there, Mr. Allan Newsome and his Wife, Ms. Jan Newsome, stopped at our table to talk, and I was able to get a picture of me with Allan. That made my day.

We then went shopping on Main Street.
We spent about an hour and a half walking Main Street, going into the stores and shopping.
I bought a TAGS Shirt from the Loaded Goat episode.

We then made our way over to “The Andy Griffith Museum” to listen to the lecture.

When we arrived, the line to pay for your entrance was stretched outside.
We had spent a lot of time walking, and I didn’t want to make Aunt Claudine and Shirley wait in that line. Plus, the forecast was calling for rain at any minute. So, we came back to our room and took a nap.

I will post about tonight’s “Meet-Up” later on tonight.

That is all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
