Return To Gatlinburg- June 2022

—Gatlinburg—

This morning I got my suitcase out, dusted it off, and opened it up to begin packing.
I’m headed back to the Cabin in Gatlinburg. I’ll stay until the 30th.

Today I’ll get my oil changed at the local Mom and Pop Garage.
Then wash and vacuum the ol’ truck.

This time, I’m buying my supplies here and carrying them with me up to the Cabin.
My main objective is not to spend any more money up there than I would spend down here.

Yesterday, I did some shopping at our local Dollar General.
It was early in the morning, and I was the only customer in the store.
The Coca-Cola delivery guys were bringing in case after case of Cokes; I was on the Chip aisle by myself.

On the other side of my aisle were the delivery guys with the Cokes.
One of the guys hollers, “Hello… Is there anybody in there?”

So, naturally, I hollered, “Just nod if you can hear me…”

And, he says back, “Is there anyone home?”
And we just laughed and laughed.

Don’t worry if you didn’t get that. It’s the lyrics to a Pink Floyd song.
I enjoy moments like that— Moments when all the pieces fall into place.

I’ll go by the local family-owned Pharmacy today and pick up my prescriptions.
Then, I’ll pack all of my medical supplies. My medical supplies fill up a big Tote Box by themselves, and it’s crucial that I pack everything I might need while up there.

After packing the truck up, I’ll straighten my Bedroom and Bathroom up. I always enjoy coming home to a clean room.

I also have a “Ring” Camera that I take with me when I go on trips.
I set it up so that Mom and Papa can check in on me while I’m away.
I call it my “Travel Cam.”

If everything works out right, I’ll get on the road at about 3 a.m. tomorrow morning.

I invite you to follow along with me as I head back to Gatlinburg.

We leave at 3 a.m.

Love you,

–Lynn
