I found myself standing in the Pasta Section of “The Pig.”
They have so many different types of noodles: Spaghetti Noodles, Fettucini Noodles, Lasagna Noodles, and Angel Hair Noodles.
I had put myself on a spending limit for this trip; I would make Spaghetti with Garlic Bread for under twenty bucks.
“Wanted Dead or Alive” by “Bon Jovi” plays over the store speakers.
I’m singing along in a whisper. ♪ “I’m a cowboy. On a steel horse, I ride. I’m wanted. Dead or alive.”
I find the noodles I want.
The cost is about $2.50. I put the noodles in the buggy and head to get the Sauce.
We use Prego Spaghetti Sauce in this house. And then, we doctor it up.
I grab the Prego Sauce that has Mushrooms in it.
♪ “And I walk these streets. A loaded Six-String on my back. I play for keeps, baby, ’cause I might not make it back. Oh yeah.” ♪ (Sometimes I add lyrics)
I grab one Vidalia Onion and one Bell Pepper in the Vegetable Section. Next, I make my way to the Meat Section.
♪ “Wanted… Dead or alive…” ♪
I grab one pound of Ground Beef for $4.50.
In the Frozen Bread Section, I grab a box of “Garlic Texas Toast” and head to the register.
“Did you find everything you needed today, Sir?”
“Yes, ma’am, I did. I’m on a mission. I need all of this to cost less than 20 bucks.”
“Okay. Let’s ring ’em up and find out.”
It was a little over $18.50.
And I head home to make Spaghetti for tonight’s dinner. That’s another post, though.
