I woke up this morning at 5 am and decided to go for a drive.
I let Tommy the Dawg sleep in.
Outside, it was in the twenties. Cold. Very cold.
I crank my vehicle up.
I notice I need gas, so I head to the bottom of the hill to fill up the tank.
At the Mom and Pop gas station that I like to use, the gas is pumping extremely slow.
I look to the fella on the other side of the pump that I’m using and ask, “Yours going slow?”
“Oh yeah. Extremely slow. I’m gonna cut it off when it hits fifteen. Too cold to wait around.”
“Yeah. I may cut mine off before then. I may go to five. Ten, maybe.”
“I’ve heard the cold weather can cause this,” the man says back.
“Yeah. Probably. I come here often, and this pump is usually not slow like this.”
He nods to me, and we return to minding our business.
At Five Dollars, I cut the gas off.
“That’s enough for today,” I say to the fella. “Have a nice one.”
“You too,” he replies.
I drive around and listen to “Johnny Dollar” on the XM Olde Time Radio Station that I enjoy listening to.
Neice number one and two are out of School this week, which means I don’t have to drive anyone to School or Pick anyone up in the afternoons.
I use that extra time to…drive around listening to “Johnny Dollar.”
Today I need to go to “Hobby Lobby” to get more Glycerin and hopefully more Snow Globes.
I’ll have twenty-five Snow Globes by the end of this week, and I have a few items left over that I need to make Snow Globes with.
So, hopefully, Hobby Lobby will have five or so Snow Globes sittin’ on a shelf somewhere.
Tommy is outside for thirty minutes to do his business.
I realize that if I’m gonna go to Hobby Lobby, then I’ll have to get more gas. More than five dollars is needed for the day, after all.
So, I’m going to jump in the shower and get this day started.
That’s all for now.
Love you,
–Lynn
