—Almost A Road Trip—
I had a road trip planned for today, but due to the weather, we pushed it back.
See, it’s officially “Tornado Season.”
And, I don’t want to talk about the location yet because I still plan on going; When the weather is better.
As I said, here in the South, it’s officially “Tornado Season.”
I guess every state has something they have to deal with— Ours is Tornadoes.
Some states have Earthquakes; others have Hurricanes. Then, of course, the “Cold” States have snow. And, we have Tornados. or, as some call ’em, “Naders.” Our Tornado Season is from March until the end of May.
So, trips get planned around the bad weather.
Last Wednesday, we had terrible weather, and it seems we are going to have bad weather again tonight.
We would have left this morning and come back Friday had it all worked out.
We take our Tornadoes pretty seriously here in this part of America.
My hometown of Fultondale, Alabama, has been devastated by Tornadoes over the years. It seems that each time they recover from one Tornado outbreak, they get hit with another attack of Tornadoes.
When I was in school, we had Tornado Drills.
For a Tornado Drill, the school bell rings three times—If I remember correctly.
After the bell rings three times, each student calmly gets up, forms a single-file line, and then walks out to the school hallway and sits with their back against the wall.
It’s imperative to take a hardback book with you out to the hallway.
You use the hardback book to cover your head.
People around here also keep helmets to put on during an outbreak of Tornadoes. Helmets have saved people’s lives.
Schools may have helmets for the students to wear nowadays. If not, they should.
So, I was supposed to go on a road trip today, but as I said earlier, it has gotten pushed back.
I may try to get away for something this weekend. —If the weather is good.
That’s all for now.
Love you,
–Lynn
