—Cabin 6/14/22— Evening Meal
I’d been eating on the food I brought and got tired of it. I wanted a Meat and Three Plate to eat. This was last night.
“The Golden Corral” cost 17 Bucks for the buffet and a drink before the Pandemic. Afterward, it cost 19 Bucks for the buffet.
I had a twenty and seven dollars in my wallet.
I thought I’d spend the twenty and get the buffet, and I’d have some ones for a tip.
I took a shower and got ready.
I arrive and get in line behind ten other people.
No one chit-chats with me, and I don’t see anyone I could chit-chat with while in line. I patiently wait.
I get to the register.
“One Buffet and a Tea, Please.”
“Twenty-three sixty-five, please.”
“Oh, wow. You went up. This is cutting into the tip money…”
“Uh-huh. We went up a little, Sir.”
I pay the fine; I mean the bill.
I tried to eat twenty-three dollars worth of food but couldn’t.
They did have a lot of meat on every bar.
“Ah, all this meat and veggies went up in price,” I thought.
They have a Steak Bar. It had mounds of steaks. Mounds.
I had already put Mashed Potatoes and Gravy on my plate when I discovered the Steak Bar. I didn’t care. I was getting a Steak.
I asked for a Medium-Rare, and the cook cut a pretty good-sized steak for me. He showed me the inside, ensuring I was okay with that cut of meat. I was.
Next, I ate a plate of Shrimp. Fried. With Steak Fries.
I did start off with a pretty good Salad. I forgot to mention that.
All in all, I ate a Salad and made three trips to the buffet.
I tried to eat my money’s worth but failed.
It was pretty good.
I’m not sure about the price, though.
Everything is getting too high for my blood.
