Garden Update

You may or may not remember that I planted a garden this year.

We have a Raised Flowerbed here at the house, and I used that for my Garden.
It’s raised to my waist, making it easy to maintain. I do not have to bend over at all.
Bending over is an issue for me with my Spina Bifida, Tethered Spinal Cord, and Colon.
I can get an obstruction in my Bowel or Colon by simply bending over.
You can, too. I get scared when I think of how easily our body can break down just by doing something as simple as bending down to pick something up. I digress, though.

The Garden is not big at all.
This year, I planted:

-Tomato
-Squash
-Egg Plant
-Broccoli
-Sweet Basil
-Strawberries

The Strawberries didn’t produce this year, but I’m told that it is pretty common for Strawberries not to grow in the first year of planting.

The Tomatoes are growing well. So, we are going to have a good bit of Tomatoes.
We may pick a few of the Tomatoes while they are still green and fry up some Green Tomatoes.

The Squash is doing very well. I’ve already picked Three Squash—enough to slice up and fry with Onion. I love Fried Squash.

The Egg Plant has blooms but has not started producing yet—Fingers Crossed.

The Sweet Basil is doing amazingly well. I have lots of Basil. Lots.
I’ll have to read up on how to harvest Basil.

The Broccoli plants, five in total, keep getting bigger and bigger but have not produced any Broccoli yet.

I water the Garden daily and pick all the weeds out as I go. It gives me something to do and keeps me busy. I enjoy it.

And that’s the latest on the Garden.
