Growing up, I didn’t get to do many things that young kids get to do.
Things like Field Trips, Summer Camp, or even joining the Boy Scouts was out for me.
It may have been my decision. But, to tell you the truth, I don’t remember.
I do know that it would have meant me taking medical supplies with me, and I did not want to deal with that as a kid.
So, “Meet-Ups” and “Get-Togethers,” other than our family reunion, were out for me.
Plus, I’ve never been a big fan of crowds.
That is all going to change this year, though.
Yep. In the year 2021, Lynn is going to a “Meet-Up.”—Andy Griffith Style.
Most people who know me know that I am a big fan of Andy Griffith. I’m an even bigger fan of “The Andy Griffith Show,” or “TAGS” for us “Mayberrians.”
A lot of people go to Star Trek conventions and other things such as “Comic-Con.”
Well, I’ll be traveling to Mt. Airy, NC., for a “Mayberry Meet-Up.”
Yes, for five days and four nights, I will be meeting up with a group of Mayberrians to hang out in Andy Griffiths home town.
At night, hundreds of us will meet at a pavilion and watch The Andy Griffith Show on a big screen.
I even have to bring a portable AM/FM radio to tune in to listen to the show. (Fancy)
I won’t be alone for the ride. I do have two family members going with me.
We will head out on the 14th of this month, drive for about five or six hours and get a motel room off the interstate.
Then, on the 15th, we will finish the rest of the drive into Mt. Airy, NC.
I’m super excited and have ordered extra medical supplies to carry with me.
I am hoping to have many stories to tell while on the trip.
We will be gone from the 14th through the 19th.
We will arrive back home on the 20th. (If all goes well)
