Morning Drives

—Morning Drive—

My mornings are all the same.

I get up, get dressed, and go for a drive.
I drive all over this mountain that we live on. It helps me to get my day started.

The older generation calls this mountain “Rattle Snake Mountain.”
However, it turns out that people do not want to buy a house on “Rattle Snake Mountain.” So, the mountain officially has a nice name.
—It’s still full of Rattle Snakes, though.

Lately, I’ve seen more deer and Fawns than usual on the mountain while riding around.

I ran across a spot where a mother and four fawns are living.

Every time I go by there, I can see them right there, right off the road.

Every once in a while, they jump out and cross the street in front of me. So, I drive slow while driving around the mountain.

This morning, I stopped to let a 4 point buck cross the road. Instead of crossing, though, the buck walked over to my truck and stared at me. I drove on.

I always feel better after taking my drive.
It’s an excellent way to get the day started.
It helps with my pain.
…And after typing this up, I can understand why I start my days off with my morning drive.
