11/18/2023 Morning Blog

Getting my day started can sometimes take time.
I love it when something happens to speed up the time it takes to start my day.

At 4:30 am, I woke up from having the craziest dream.

In my dream, my truck had lost its brakes, and I was driving up on a Traffic Jam.
I immediately let off the gas and tried using my brakes again, but nothing was happening.
I have two choices. I can hit a car in the Traffic Jam or a stopped Police car with nobody in it.
In my dream, those are my only options.
I hit the cop car.

The next several hours of my dream are spent at the Police Station, trying my best not to get arrested.
As I said, a crazy dream.

Now I’m awake. It’s 4:30 am.
I get out of bed and decide to pass the time by driving through the country.
“Maybe I can see the Owl again,” I think to myself. I see this particular Owl every six months to once a year.
It’s always in the same area and sometimes in the same spot.
I get dressed.
The “Dawgs” do not even get up from their sleep.
I head for the truck.

I drove several times by the spot where the Owl usually hangs out but did not see the Owl.

“Oh well,” I say.

Next, I headed to the Gas Station to get some gas.
While getting gas, the guy across from my pump says, “My tank must have a hole in it,” and smiles.

“Yep. Last month, it cost me Seventy Dollars to fill my tank,” I reply.

He then told me he was headed to Tuscaloosa, or “T-Town” as we call it here in Alabama, to watch the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Game today, and he wanted to fill up before getting on the road.

We discussed gas prices in Tuscaloosa, and both agreed that gas would be much higher if he got gas in “T-Town.”

He then said, “Well, we’re not really going for the game. The Cheerleaders at our School got invited to Cheer at the game today. We’re all going to support them.”

“Well, that’s really great,” I say and continue, “Always good to support your Town and School.”

My pump cuts off. “50 Bucks today,” I say to the gentleman.

He replies, “I’m up to Forty-Seven bucks right now.”

“God Bless Y’all, and Safe Travels on your trip,” I say.

He replies, “God Bless You and Thank You.”

And I drive off with my day now officially started.
