Note to Reader— My camera’s battery went out, and I did not get a single picture on this trip.
Yesterday, I drove to Cosby, TN.
My Oldest Brother told me about the place.
Cosby is a rural area in TN with lots of beauty.
The scenery is beautiful as well as the old homes and farms.
A lot of Bikers and Bike enthusiasts ride through Cosby. It is beautiful.
There were lots of stops, that I didn’t have time to make, such as Antique Stores and crafts.
To get to Cosby from Gatlinburg, TN., you take 321 for about twenty miles until you get to the “T.” Turn left at the “T,” and you’ll run into Cosby.
I visited “Janice’s Diner” to grab a bite.
Janice’s has good country cookin’.
All the locals in this rural community eat at Janice’s.
I know they were locals because when I walked in, everyone got quiet, looked at me, and knew I was a Tourist.
These beautiful people were there during their lunch break.
They were sweaty, dirty, hard-working people, like much of my family.
It got quiet when I walked in, but once I sat down, everyone went right back to talking with one another.
The appetizers had everything from Wings to Fried Mushrooms.
They have Sandwiches and Burgers on the Menu as well as a Meat and Two. A Roll or Cornbread comes with the Meat and Two.
They had 5 Dollar Deals on the Board on the wall.
They also had Beef Vegetable Soup for 5 Dollars. It comes with Crackers or Cornbread.
Homemade cakes, 6 in total while I was there, are sitting out on Cake Plates with Clear lids on them.
They had everything from Chocolate to Butter Pecan Cakes.
Beef Liver and Onions are on the Menu as well. My family and I love Liver and Onions with Gravy.
But, they also had Country Fried Steak and Gravy on the Menu. So, I had a hard time choosing my meal.
In the end, I went with the Country Fried Steak and Gravy. Don’t worry, though; I’m going to go back and try the Beef Liver and Onions and Gravy on this trip.
I actually want to spend more time in Cosby. I feel like I didn’t even scratch the surface.
As I said in the beginning, my Oldest Brother told me about the place, and I’m glad he did.
If you’re ever close to Cosby, TN., try to drive through there.
And if you have the chance, stop by Janice’s Diner.
That’s all for now.
Love you,
–Lynn
