I wasn’t much in the “Spirit of Christmas” this year.
I thought this would be the worst Christmas of my Life.
I had spent 19 days in a Coma, had Sepsis/Septic Shock, had lost the use of my lower legs, and I was now learning how to use a Wheelchair and Walker.
Then, my Laptop went “Kapoot.” …Yeah, it was going to be a bad Christmas.
With my mind in the shape it was in at the moment, I knew I couldn’t fix my Laptop. —Not until my mind healed up some.
So, last night, my oldest Brother was going to take me to Best Buy or Wal-Mart to buy a new laptop.
My Brother began wheeling me outside.
Once we opened the Front Door, 11 or 12 Carolers stood singing Classic Christmas Caroling Songs.
“Hey! Y’all come look! We got Carolers this year,” I shouted to everyone inside the house.
Everyone comes rushing to the front door, and we all begin singing with the Carolers.
My Aunt, who knew ahead of time about this, leaned down and said, “Do any of them look familiar?”
“It’s too dark to see faces. All we have are the house Christmas Lights on. Should they? I don’t think I know… Holy Cow! That’s ‘Three On A String’ and ‘Sean Dietrich’ and his wife ‘Jamie!'”
My eyes lit up brighter than our Christmas Decorations.
“Three On A String, Sean Dietrich and wife Jamie,” and some friends of theirs all loaded up into their Vehicles and drove over to our Home to sing Caroling Songs. We all sang along.
After they finished, we talked them into coming in for some Milk and Cookies and to see my “Andy Griffith Wall.” —I knew they all enjoyed watching “The Andy Griffith Show” too.
They stayed for about an hour and a half.
While in the house, they played a few more songs from their repertoire.
As they were leaving, I thought back on my ninth Christmas. The Christmas that Santa brought me my BMX Bicycle.
At one time, I would have told you that the year I got my BMX Bike was the best Christmas ever.—That wasn’t true anymore.
My favorite Christmas now was in 2024. The year I temporarily lost the use of my Lower Body, had been in a Coma, and almost died —The year “Three On A String, Sean Dietrich, and wife Jamie,” —and friends— came Caroling at my Home.
