Franklin Tennessee

At 4 p.m., I got off of the Franklin, Tennessee exit. My Friend Greg had mentioned it, and it sounded interesting. It’s about 20 miles outside of Nashville.

Franklin is a bustling area.
Traffic off the exit to the Hotel/Motel area is back to back.
I look over the Motels and decide on the Best Western.
It’s $90 a night, Monday-Thursday.
Friday-Sunday costs $179 a night.

I ask for a cheap room for 1 for four nights.
That’s when I learned I could only get a room until Friday Night, and I’d have to be out by 11 a.m. on Saturday. —They’re already booked for those nights.
The Clerk/Host advised me to use tomorrow to find another room for the rest of my trip.
I accepted and asked for a room on the first floor.
Of course, all the rooms are “Drive-Up to” rooms. That is the way I like it.
I can back up to my room, pop the trunk, and carry everything into my room.

The room is nice.
It’s actually a bit nicer than I’m used to.
I like the Old Motel Rooms like Panama City had in the ’80s.
The ones with the great Air Conditioner. You know, before Government Regulations.
You could turn those things down to 50.
So, this is nicer than I was expecting.

It has an Air Conditioner, a Mini-Fridge, a Microwave, Cable TV, and WiFi.
I have a desk which I am using now to type this.
The Shower is nice with excellent water pressure, and I also have a full-size Ironing Board and Hair Dryer.
Then, it has all the regular items, such as a closet with hangers and drawers for clothing.
It also has two beds, each with four pillows. —I will be using all the pillows on my bed tonight.
I’ve unpacked and set my CPAP up.

The area has everything I need in one square mile. —From a “Publix” to “Dollar General.” Then, from Pizza to Hamburgers, to Chinese and Indian Foods. —All delivered to your room using DoorDash.
Or you can go to a Sit Down Restaurant.

I signed up for DoorDash because I had never used it.
I then ordered Chinese Food from “New China.” It had good reviews and everything I wanted to eat.

I ordered:

(2) Egg Rolls
Hot and Sour Soup
Beef with Broccoli
Pepper Steak with Onions
(2) 20 oz. Diet Cokes

I gave a $5.50 tip to the driver.

The DoorDash total came to $49.

I was a bit upset with myself for paying so much, but I have leftovers for tomorrow, and I do like Chinese leftovers.

I told my Mother what I had paid, and she explained that Room Service at a Hotel would have been that much or more.
That made me feel better.

I’m pretty beat from the long day.
I’ve now eaten and am about to watch TV and fall asleep.

—More later

Love you,

–Lynn
