—Half Shell Oyster House—
I was in the mood for some Oysters on the half shell today, but the only Restaurant I knew of that has them has gone under during the Pandemic.
So, I called my Uncle. Uncle “Unc!” that is.
And he told me about the “Half Shell Oyster House.”
I called my Dad and asked if he wanted to go and eat some Oysters. And, like me, he too was in the mood for some Oysters.
I picked him up at 12:30 PM, and we hit the road to Birmingham, Alabama.
It’s in a very nice and updated part of Birmingham.
I’ll go ahead and tell you; it’s upscale.
Very nice on the inside. In fact, I felt a little embarrassed to be “that guy” taking photos of the interior or my food even. So, I have very few pictures.
For starters, we had Stuffed Crab Cakes and Fried Green Tomatoes.
Then, I got a half dozen oysters on the half shell and a half dozen Oysters Bienville.
Dad had the Oysters on the half shell.
It’s a very quiet and peaceful Restaurant where you can have a quiet conversation.
Dad and I talked about our trip that we are going to take to Mississippi as well as some other possible trips.
…And, after I had finished my oysters, I ordered another half dozen on the half shell.
Their oysters were delicious.
Uncle Unc! wasn’t wrong. He usually isn’t.
Afterward, I drove Dad back home, hugged him, and told him, “I love you.”
It was a good day.
That’s all for now.
Love you,
–Lynn
