Happy New Year 2022

—Happy New Year—

5, 4, 3, 2, 1— Happy New Year!

My Aunt and I stood on the Cabin’s porch and watched as the ball dropped at the Space Needle.
People all over the Mountain began singing “Auld Lang Syne” while fireworks shot off over the Space Needle.
We were now in the year 2020.

Earlier, we had all gone and gotten 1920’s Gangster Photos taken. —Yep. We were ready to head into the ’20s—the 2020s.

And then, just like that, our lives got put on hold.
—COVID—
It feels like the last two years have been one long, crummy year.
It doesn’t feel like I even got to experience the year 2020 yet.

I was able to get out of the house this past year, though.
I had some really great trips.

— Gatlinburg Several Times

So, things are looking up.

I, for one, want to pick up where I left off when I stood on that porch and celebrated the New Year with my Aunt in 2020.
I want to feel the happiness I felt when we went and had our ’20s Gangster Pictures made for fun. I had such a good time.

Today, mom will make plates and carry them to the people in our family who are sick and couldn’t be here.
We will eat Black-Eyed Peas, Turnip Greens, Pork Roast, Cornbread, Apple Pie, and Pound Cake.

We will celebrate the New Year and Pray for Health and Happiness.
And we will head into 2022 like it was 2020 – Part II—The do-over.

Happy New Year
