Local Sports

As I posted earlier, I attended one of the local High School Football games this past Friday Night.
And, I was reminded of how much I enjoy living in a small community.

While there, I saw people from the Local, Family-Owned Businesses, such as my Pharmacist. He walked over, shook mine and Papa’s hands, and spoke to us for a minute.

Next, a local painting company’s owner walked up and sat next to us for a moment. We’ve used him for many Painting Jobs, not only at the house but also at the Cabin.
He shook our hands, and we spoke for a minute.

Many local businesses have supported the school and its sports teams in one way or another.

Things such as “Time Outs” and “Touchdowns” were sponsored by local businesses.
After completing two plays, the announcer, calling the game from the Pressbox, says, “Mortimer Jordan calls a time-out. This time-out is brought to you by ‘Local Business Name Goes Here.'”

And even the announcer calling the game from the Pressbox is a local person. He’s my oldest brother.

I saw people from my Church.
Papa and I spoke to people from his Bible Study Class.

And, For a moment, I scanned the Stands and took in what was actually happening; A local Community coming together to support the sports and the local kids.
It was Beautiful to see.
