Southern Tea

I made a fresh Gallon of Tea today—Very refreshing.

You may think making Tea is no big deal, but it is. In fact, in the South, Tea is a huge deal—much like in England.
Southerners take Great Pride in their Tea.
When visiting Friends or Neighbors, we Southerners will “Grade” their Tea against our own Tea.

When I was a kid, I only liked my Mom’s Tea.
I could pick her Tea out in a Blindfolded Taste Test.
In the South, every kid knows what their Mom’s Tea tastes like.

My Tea is good, if I do say so myself.
In fact, I’m the official “Tea Maker” in this house. It’s my Secret Recipe. Not my Mom’s. Not my Brother’s. Mine. It did begin with Mom’s Secret Tea Recipe, though.

…And don’t get me started on Tea you can buy in a Gallon Jug like you do for Milk.
The only time I buy a Gallon of Tea is when I’ve been put in charge of bringing Plastic Cups, Ice, and Tea to a Party. …which happens often in the Christmas Season.

I even have it timed how long I let my Tea sit and steep and “Cure” before I place it in the refrigerator. …And that’s all I can tell you about my Tea Recipe. …And I made up the word “Cure.”
And, since I won’t have children, my Tea Recipe will die with me. The world will never know what it missed.

I want to tell you the Recipe, but, who knows, I might one day sell my Recipe to some Conglomerate who makes it and sells it in a Gallon Jug.

…And that’s all I have to say about that.
