Spaghetti

Mom said she was gonna make Spaghetti for Supper tonight.

A while back, I posted about my learning to make Mom’s Spaghetti Sauce. So, I told Mom that I would make the Spaghetti.

The first step was heading to “The Pig” to get the ingredients.
A lot of Southerners put Ground Beef in their Spaghetti Sauce, and we are like a lot of Southerners.
I threw some Ground Beef in the Buggy.
Next, Bell Pepper, Sweet Onion, and Prego Spaghetti Sauce.
What we do is buy the Sauce and then “Doctor” it up with the above ingredients.
We throw a few Herbs and Spices into the Sauce as well, but I won’t talk about that.

I got some Homemade Garlic Bread from the Bakery as well.

I got home and cooked everything while Papa was getting one of my Nieces from School. This particular Niece is a picky eater. You know the type…

She walks through the door just as everything is about finished cooking.

I stop her and say, “Hey, I’ve been cooking like crazy in this Kitchen, and you’re gonna eat tonight. Yes. It turns out that this cookin’ thing ain’t easy! What Grammy does is actually really, really hard. You know the Onions, Bell Peppers, and ‘Stuff’ that’s in all of our food? It turns out that you gotta cut each of those things up individually and add them to the food. Yeah… You gotta put it all together. It’s actually really hard… This cookin’ thing is no joke. So, you need to eat whatever Grammy cooks…”

She replies, “Papa took me and bought me something to eat on the way home…”

Dinner was good, though.
The rest of us enjoyed the Spaghetti.
