2/26/24 – Journal Entry

It was another beautiful Spring-Like day today, so I took “The Dawgs” out for a drive.

On a long straight stretch of the road, I came up on four Buzzards eating something on the road. I’ll call it a “Steak.” A great big juicy Steak. They were in hog heaven.
As I get close, the Buzzards fly off—one of them with a juicy piece of Steak hanging from its beak. I drive on. A curve is coming up ahead.

I come out of the curve and see one of the Water Towers in our area.
The Water Department is digging a trench to the Water Tower. I am guessing that they are adding another Pipe. The trench looks several feet deep. I drive on.

“George,” the Donkey should be coming up. I haven’t decided whether to call him “George” or “Goober” yet. It’s “George” for now, though. I get closer to his place in the field, and just as I thought, there is “George.”
“Hee-Haw,” I holler out the window as I pass.

On another straight stretch of road, I come up on a Pond.
A Fella is fishing it today. He waves, and I wave back.
I’ve seen him fishing that Pond before, and I’ve always wondered if he is a Family Member of the owner of the Pond or if he got permission to fish the Pond. I’d like to get permission to fish that Pond. It’s not “Woodsie” and would be easy to navigate. I could even set up a chair and sit and fish. I drive on and take a Left onto the next Street.

Up ahead are two more small Ponds. Ducks use these Ponds year-round.
At least, I’ve never seen the Ducks leave this place for the Winter. And we are in the South.
The Ducks are out wandering around the Pond. I pass on by.

My Phone rings.
“Hello?”
The doctor’s office was reminding me of my “Hipshot” appointment.
With my Spina Bifida and my Tethered Spinal Cord, I cannot have any Shots in my Back. The Shot could potentially do harm.
I am, however, able to get Shots into my Hips to help alleviate Hip Pain.
I confirm the appointment.

Up ahead at the Stop Sign, I stop and ask “Tommy” and “Otis” if they’re ready to go home. I pet them as I ask.
The look they give me tells me they’re tired and ready to head back home. I turn to the Right and head back home.

And it was a Great Drive through the country with “The Dawgs.”

That’s all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
