I took an early morning drive today.
The temperature was in the ’50s, and outside was overcast and drizzly.
“Alexa” told me it’s supposed to get cold tonight. Right now, though, it feels nice.
“Bob Segar” played on the radio as I drove through the countryside.

Rabbits were out in full force. They were everywhere. I almost ran over several.
Then, I disrupted a Red Fox who was out on the prowl.
It was still dark out, and I’m sure the fella played it cool and sneaky until my vehicle came around the curve. The Jig was up when my headlights gave him away. His position and plan had become compromised, so he darted across the road and back into the woods.
I stopped, rolled my window down, and hollered, “Hey, Rabbits! The Fox is on the prowl!” Then I giggled and drove on.

In another field stands many Goats.
They have a Large Furry Dog that stands around protecting them.
Also in this field is a Big Ol’ Pig. Brown and Black in color and might weigh 200 pounds. He’s big.
My headlights hit that field, and I stopped to watch the Dog and the Pig interacting.
The Pig was waddling very slowly, and the Dog seemed to be “Herding” the Pig from behind.
As the Pig slowly walked forward, the Dog was behind as if he were the Pig’s trainer.

I could imagine the Dog yelling at the Pig in a Marine Sergeant’s voice: “Come on! Mooove it, Mooove it! Hut 2,3,4, Hut 2,3,4!”
Then, the Dog looked at me like I was interrupting them.
“Sorry, Sir,” I said, and I drove on.

On up the road, I noticed daylight. The sun was coming up.
I could better see the Cloudy Sky now, so I began looking for the elusive Owl I see now and then. It’s usually during daybreak when I see him, and I was in the area where he usually stays. I slowly drove through this stretch of road, looking at Fence Posts and Tree Branches for the Owl.
I made a U-Turn and drove the stretch again.
The Owl was nowhere to be seen today, though, and I made my way back home.

Once back home, I found “Tommy” and “Otis” still sleeping on their beds.
Neither one even lifted his head to look at me.
I sat in my recliner, turned the TV to “The Andy Griffith Show,” and reclined back.
I let “The Dawgs” sleep.

And that’s all for now.

Love you,

–Lynn
