Oxford Performing Arts Centre

Today, I got my Ol’ Rod and Reel out. I hadn’t held it in my hand since before my Brother passed.
It’s an “Abu Garcia” that I bought as a teenager.
Back then, I was a member of the Bass Masters.
I loved being a Member of the Bass Masters just as much as “Ralphie” loved being in the “Little Orphan Annie Fan Club” on “A Christmas Story.”

Before I became a teenager, I spent Saturdays watching Cartoons. It was even called “Cartoon Day.”
As a teenager, though, Saturdays were spent watching Fishing Shows on TV.
“Hank Parker” was my favorite Fisherman to follow in the Bass Masters Classic.
I even watched Hank win the Classic. It was my Super Bowl.

As I said, I hadn’t held my Rod and Reel since before my Brother passed, and I decided to change that.
I made plans to stay in Oxford, Alabama, this weekend.
I’ll get myself a cheap motel room for Friday and Saturday nights, then, at the “Oxford Performing Arts Centre” on Friday Night, I’ll see a show.
For the rest of the time, I plan on doing some fishing from the banks of Logan Martin Lake.
The last time I fished was at Logan Martin and it was with Tony. That’s more coincidental, though, than anything.
The truth is I had a chance to see this show on Friday Night and decided to throw some fishing in and make it a weekend.

I always take a WiFi Camera with me so my family can log in to the Camera and check in on me.
I also have “Life360” installed on my phone so that my family can follow where I am.
And my doctor has released me back to “Normal” activities.
All of my fishing will be done from the bank.

I can’t find my tackle box, though.
I’ve had that box since I was a teenager as well.
Some of those lures are over thirty years old.
I’ll keep looking for my tackle, but it looks like I may have to go tomorrow to purchase a new box and some new lures. That saddens me.
I hope to find it tomorrow.

That’s a quick update on me.
I hope all is well with you all.

Love you,

–Lynn
