Top O’ The River

Today, I had the great pleasure of going to the “Top O’ The River” Restaurant in Guntersville, Alabama. I went with Mom and Papa’s Sunday School Class.

It was my first time eating at this restaurant.

The building is big. Two floors big. I heard that it could seat around 600 people.

Once seated, the waitress brought a hot pan of Cornbread, Pickled Onion, and Slaw to go with our meal. I ordered the “Pot O’ Mustard Greens” to go with the Cornbread and Slaw. I highly recommend that, too. The greens were exceptional. All of it was exceptional.

Mom and Papa ordered the Fried Whole Catfish.

I, on the other hand, decided to get one pound of the Creole Boiled Shrimp. Yep. A whole pound.
It’s actually on the Appetizers Menu, but that’s what I wanted. And it was delicious. The Spices were so good on the Shrimp.

We sat with over twenty other people and talked about life.
Candle Supply Shopping got brought up. And those of us with Diabetes compared our A1C numbers.
We laughed loudly, shared food, and enjoyed each other’s company.

It was a great day.

If you ever get the chance to try “Top O’ The River,” I highly recommend it.
Get there early. They open at 4 PM and fill up quickly.
